If your child has recently been in trouble with the law and has been assigned to the Department of Juvenile Justice as part of his/her community control he/she can be given along with the family the option of attending the “TAGIT” program. If this option is chosen then he/she is mandated by the courts of Okaloosa County to attend all classes. They can receive up to all required community service hours assigned as part of their community control. Ask your DJJ caseworker or your aftercare case worker about further details.
The vision for the TAGIT program is to establish within the local community a means by which at-risk youth can become rehabilitated, and help them and their families to be examples of thriving homes, balanced with truth, love, grace, and hope.
The mission of the TAGIT program Is two-fold. The first is to:
The second, is to:
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
This program is designed for all ages. The class for youth is called ‘TAGIT’ (Teaching A Generation in Truth). This class is formatted for ages 13-17. During the course of this class, we will address questions such as “what are right choices?”, “what makes right, right and wrong, wrong?”, “How can I make right moral choices 100% of the time?”
Our ‘Truth Matters’ class is formatted for ages 8-12. We address the same questions and issues during the course of this class, as we do our ‘TAGIT’ class. The only difference, is it is designed for the younger ages.
'Parenting by Grace’ is a class where we address issues that parents face while raising children. Our purpose for this class is to equip every family with necessary resources to build a foundation that nurtures, strengthens, and produces a thriving family unit.
