WHO WE AREGateway City Church was founded in 2006 by Pastor Jonathan Sansom, who had ministered in the Fort Walton Beach area as a youth pastor and associate pastor at Family of Faith Community Church for thirteen years. He is the third generation of pastors serving in ministry. His father is the Senior Pastor of Family of Faith Community Church, and his grandfather is an Associate Pastor there as well. Gateway City Church was conceived as a vision God gave Pastor Jonathan many years ago, in developing and equipping men and women to be genuine leaders in the body of Christ. It was also the vision of God (God’s purpose) to establish a vehicle that would be used to usher in a cultural change in this city, state, nation, and the world.

What a joy it is to introduce you to our church! You’ll discover that our passion is to provide a place where people just like you can have a life-changing experience with God.
At Gateway City Church, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. What people usually notice first about us is the life-giving nature of our ministry. Our goal is to infuse life and God’s love into people and families through engaging, powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways. |
But it won’t take you long to discover that we’re more than just a Sunday church. In fact, we’re actually a network of small groups. And if you’d like to develop authentic and enduring relationships with others, you’ll be glad to know there are opportunities to join a group all the time.
Together, we’re striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there’s relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.
So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at Gateway City Church.
In our relationship with God, our family, our friends, and our world … we are making waves of change. We invite you to worship with us this Sunday!

OUR VISION
IT IS THE DREAM
of a place where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, and the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.
IT IS THE DREAM
of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the tens of thousands of residents along the panhandle gulf coast region.
IT IS THE DREAM
of creating a church culture that will transform the world culture of our community into a place where people prosper in their financial life, social life, and family life, as well as mature in their faith in Jesus Christ.
IT IS THE DREAM
of welcoming 10,000 members into the fellowship of our church family- loving, learning, laughing, and living in harmony together.
IT IS THE DREAM
of developing people to spiritual maturity through Bible studies, small groups, seminars, retreats, and a Bible school for our members.
IT IS THE DREAM
of equipping every believer for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents that God has given them.
IT IS THE DREAM
of sending out hundreds of career missionaries and church workers all around the world, to empower every member for a personal life mission in the world. It is the dream of sending our members by the thousands on short-term mission projects to every continent. It is the dream of starting at least one new daughter church every year.
IT IS THE DREAM
of at least 40 acres of land, on which will be built a regional church for the panhandle gulf coast region, with beautiful, yet simple facilities, including a worship center that seats thousands, a counseling and prayer center, classrooms for Bible studies and training lay ministers, and a recreation area. All of this will be designed to minister to the local person spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially - set in a peaceful, inspiring garden landscape.
